Give me a greeting when you visit. I appreciate nice-ness.
You can address another blogger ... and even disagree with them, that is fine. All I ask is that you leave censure and hand-slapping to me.
Speak up ... about the posts.
Be nice!
Earl - As I write, teach Sunday School, I think of people like you in my audience. It gives me a sanity check of what I am saying. Would what I say pass the "crap" or sanity check of you or others that I know?
Todd - With blogs like this one there is plenty to be hopeful for in the blogsphere.
Matthew - Its nice to read an edifying Christian blog ... You are so level-headed.
Mark - You're real! The blogosphere needs more real people like you around.
Loren - I'll bet you stay up late nights thinking about all the theology that must be swimming through your head. I just want to say that it's great to see the ways in which God is challenging you, and using you to minister through your blog. The things you, and others here, have shared, are very thought provoking!
Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18)

She hosts the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC in the evening. I had the misfortune of watching her for several minutes on about three different occassions over the last week. Does anyone out there know what I am talking about?
Rose, I don't watch MSNBC except when I am clicking through the channels for maybe 10-15 seconds which is how long it takes for them to offend me with their bias! I can say the same for CNN.
I enjoy Rush Limbaugh on the radio for excellent conservative commentary and also for great humor! I think Missy is right about this woman not having a clue. I can get both sides from Fox News without punishing myself.
haha Bob, I had to go and clean up one of Levi's adventures, but that was going to be my comment to you: I wonder if Bill O'Reilly comes across that way to liberals. I don't really like Sean Hannity - he agrees with a lot of my views -but I htink he is rude the way he cuts people off so much. He also seems very angry sometimes, but overall has a serious approach. She doesn't seem serious but like she is making fun of and laughing at conservatives. (I may be a hypocrite here cuz I like R. Limbaugh and I know he does that). I am trying to think objectively about Sean's television demeanor, though, and I can't remember him being like her - she is so ... can't put my finger on the word... she acts so incredulous at the idiocy of conservatives. She spoke about Sarah Palin and she was heckling her while she played a clip of her. ah, maybe Sean comes across the same way to liberals and I just can't put myself in that frame of mind. I really think this lady is in a league of her own with her smart alecky demeanor. I just really don't like her way. :~)
The guy that you mentioned, Obermann, he is like Bill. From what little I watched, I think you're right in that comparison. BUT - I could tolerate him even though he is throwing stones at my side of the issues. He doesn't grate me like that woman.
Jazzy, I watch Fox News mostly. When I am following something, though, like a debate follow-up, and there is a commercial on Fox, I click up to MSNBC. (John gets irritated - he can't stand it)
Thanks, Rose. But I'm serious. It's okay to hear a point or two from us young 'uns and consider - but keep in mind our lack of wisdom. We'd be wiser if we kept that in mind ourselves. :)
(I'll be 35 next week so I'm trying to focus on my youthfulness at the moment!)
I think all of them (TV/Radio political-entertainment pundits) are snarky. They talk too much and rarely listen. One gets a heightened ego from listening to their own voice too often.
I try to have at least four in my head regularly. :D
I have stopped listening to Rush and stopped watching Sean, Bill, Keith, and Rachel.
I do watch Morning Joe and enjoy some of the panelist type shows that often a fairly wide perspective on things like the elections and the economy.
When I listened exclusively to the conservative talking heads I felt like my thinking was skewed much in the same way that I was skewed spiritually when I didn't question some of the things that my pastor of 18 years did and said.
I like listening to both sides.. it gives a broader perspective and doesn't put me in a position of making excuses for and defending the words and the deeds of those one side of the religious or political aisle.
I actually like watching her show. She is VERY left leaning, BUT she is well prepared with her content and pretty smart to boot.
She seems honest for the most part, which is why I can bare to put up with the left agenda. She at least buys what she's selling. Keith O on the other hand... he's just playing a game and reaping the rewards - as far as I can tell.
I miss Tucker myself. He's long been my favorite pundit. If one can even HAVE a favorite pundit.
I wouldn't suggest that an impressionable person watch Rachel but seeing as I spend WAY too much time following your country's politics... if feel fairly safe checking her show out.

Well, she's the same age as me. That's just too young. You shouldn't listen to us, we don't know what we are talking about. :)

She and her MSNBC buddy Keith Olbermann both lean left and are both in the tank for Obama.
I look at her as the conterpart to Sean Hannity and Olbermann as the far left version Bill O'Reilly.
A show that I find fairly balanced is Morning Joe. Joe Scarborough is right leaning but has a pretty balanced mix of views on the show.

I have never seen her, nor do I hope to ever.
I do love Missy's comment though...that's funny!

Hi Missy!
You're a funny lady.
It is the WAY she says it that I find so rude. Have you ever seen her? She is the most snarky, sarcastic thing! OOh...
:~)

Snarkier than Sean or Bill? LOL

That sounds like an interesting thing to do, Bob.
BTW - I have seen Morning Joe a few times and I liked it.

You KNOW what I mean, John! ;~)
David,
Please DO let me know.
Kev,
Thanks for stopping by. She irked me when I saw her - such a smart aleck. Maybe I just caught in the wrong moments. ?
I have been doing great. Thanks for asking.
By Rose~, at 10/21/2008 5:11 PM
Hi Rose, glad to hear it.
She's a smart alec most of the time.. it's probably a failing in me that I find that amusing. :)

Hi Rose, it's been awhile, glad to see you still bringing up good
"reasonable" discussions.
