Going Away
(We have left a gargoyle in our house for protection it so if you are local and reading this: don't think about robbing us.)
We would appreciate your prayers as we ae going to a cottage on a lake and we have a very active 18 month old. It will be fun for the older kids but it may be a challenge for mom and dad.
Thanks!
God bless you and have a good week.

Alvin,
How kind of you to pray for us. Lions and cats are good for protection. hehe
David,
We had fun for the most part except for playing chase with Levi, which wedid most of the time. He is so busy!
He doesn't like driving long distances either so it was good that this place was only 1 hour away. I had looked into going to the Blue Ridge area but the drive was so long I was wise enough to know it would be horrifying. :~)
Dawn,
Thanks! I am glad to be back but we did have some really great moments. Thanks for holding down the non-Calvinistic fort around campus. haha

Hi Rose,
I hope you had a good trip, and I'm glad you're back safely.
I just want to say I can relate to the dichotomy of a "vacation" with an active toddler. :-) We went to a friend's house on the lake this weekend, and the drive was 3 hours. Our littlest one just turned 18 months, and 3 hours (with 1 stop halfway) pretty much maxed out his traveling abilities. And there were 2 sets of stairs at the lake house, so when he wasn't sleeping we took turns following him up and down the stairs, or keeping him from the dog, or from getting run over by the bigger kids, etc. Never a dull moment on vacation with a toddler! :-)
I must say though that our 5-year-old had some of the most fun of his life. I'm sure your older kids had a terrific time too. So, it's worth it, and yes, it does get better. :-)

Rachel,
Thanks for commiserating with me!
About two weeks ago we went on a 3.5 hour trip to the Creation Museum in the Cincinnati/Kentucky area... and it was too long of a drive - he didn't like it! (Therefore - no one liked it - the drive that is)
