Pray for Chad Cole

John's Nephew, Chad, really needs help from God. He has been in and out of trouble since he was a pre-teen. In the last few years, he has been into some serious drugs (the kind that addict you after one go at it).

Chad was badly beaten by 7 people (from my understanding) last weekend and has been in the hospital, in intensive care ever since. These people beat him with guns (I'm glad they did not shoot him). They were trying to make him an example as he owed them $40 and his brother owed them $60. So ... basically, you have a person beaten, almost to death, over $100 for stupid drugs! It makes me sick.

He has not awakened completely yet in the whole week and 2 days since this happened. However, today, John and I went to visit him and he was moving around and squeezed the hand of his father. He may be OK, but there is no way to be sure until he wakes up completely.

The entire time I looked at him today, I thought of how hard this must be for his father. I can't imagine knowing that my son had been so careless with his life and now he lay there almost dead ... and very possibly brain damaged ... over stupid drugs. I am very sad for all of them.

I pray that the Lord will use this event in his life to show him of his need for a relationship with Christ. I hope that all of his family will see the foolishness and vanity of life without the Lord. Chad once made a profession of faith when in jail, but did not move forward any with the Lord. Who knows? Please pray for this young man and his family, as they are all in great spiritual need.

You can read a few short articles about it from the local news if you want by clicking the links below. Thank you.

  • Hi Rose~
Thanks for posting this, I have known this young man all of his life. Bright straight "A" students + wrong choices = trouble.

Thanks for praying Matthew, and all others who lift a prayer.

    brother John

    PS Rose I like it.

  • Rose I will be praying for him! Is he a teenager or in his twenties? Drugs are so difficult to get out of. I can relate! When you want to get off drugs it isn't just about stopping them. It's a whole lifestle change. It's very hard!

  • Thank you, Dorothy. Chad is twenty.

  • How tragic Rose. Thanks to Christ for being there for you. And thanks to you for being so firm in Christ. What a hard one. Best to you and John and the rest. Todd

  • Hi Rose,

I'll be praying for Chad, and his immediate family--are they believers (his parents sibblings)?

BTW, your new template is very cool, nice work!

    In Christ,
    Bobby

  • Hi Todd,
It is tragic. John and I very much want to be there (more than we have) to shine the light of the Lord.

    Hi Bobby!
Thank you. I would say that if anyone in that immediate family is born-again, I have not heard about it. It has been a lot of drugs, promiscuous and irresponsible living.
    Divorce. Remarriage.
    On and on ...
There but by the grace of God ...

Thanks for the compliment! I worked really hard on the template. One of my goals when starting blogging was to learn web graphics. Slowly, I am picking some things up.

  • Hi Rose

Chad is like alot of poeple that Satan ripes off. Its just so hard when it hits home. My cry goes out to Jesus that He will save him and heal him.

    John,
I'm praying that the Lord gives you the word God to the Family and The love of Jesus.. that Chad would see your heart and know that Jesus is real.

May God lift you up in time of need.

    Your Brother
    Doug

  • Hi Rose :)

So sorry about this painful situation.

    I will pray for Chad.

  • Hi Rose,

I have prayed for Chad and will keep him in prayer. It may be hard for us to see it just now, but I believe this is one of those times when God will work all things together for good, and amaze us all. Hopefully this understanding will not be long in coming.

  • Hi Doug,
Drugs and substance abuse are a rip-off. No peace.

    Gordon,
    Thank you and bless you.

    Jodie,
It is painful to see someone who is destroying themselves and then to see that others have decided to help him along. Crack cocaine is awful.

    Cleopas,
Thank you. It is important to remember that noth9ing surprises God. I am interested to see what He does. Thanks for the encouragement.

    Doug,
Thanks for stopping by. You must be a very empathetic person. God bless you.

  • EVERYONE,
I want you all to know that John really appreciated this thread. He read it last night and had tears. (shhh)
All of your kind remarks and promises of prayer mean a lot to him. Thank you.

  • I'll promptly change my blogger name! Matt commented on my livejournal, so I found his blog and commented on it, but then I realized he already has an internet friend named Rose! So sorry! Beautiful name though. ;-)
