I love that hymn. I am not sure what is meant by:
I'll never know just why He came to save me,
Till someday I see His blessed face above.

One thing I especially appreciate about it is the fact that when it says Oh, how much He cared for me, I am reminded of His hanging on the cross, taking on all the sins of the whole world, of which I am a part. He really cared for us! He really cared for me.
He laid down His life to make us His friends. Only this sacrifice could take away our sin and darkness. Praise His name.
