Seven Lesser-Known Things

Andrew has "tagged" me. It means I have to answer a question and then tag three others to answer the question also.

I am supposed to reveal seven lesser-known things about myself:

1. I was born on my parents' wedding anniversary.

2. I have a deviated septum.

3. When I reached Jr. Hi age, I was a big-trouble maker in my Catholic school. I was tied in my desk and had my mouth taped shut with duct tape by the nun in the seventh grade. I spent an entire month in my own "personal" classroom. My father died of a heart attack later that year.

4. I used to change the oil in my own car for 9 years, until I was 26 when I got a car with an oil filter that was unreachable for a normal person without a mechanic's garage.

5. I have no knuckle in my right hand pinkie finger and it is an inch shorter than the one on the other hand.

6. I like to watch boxing. Goerge Foreman is my hero.

7. I never wear nylon stockings with dresses in the winter - instead I wear tube socks hidden beneath my knee-high boots. Shhhhh...

Now, I am tagging three people that must share 7 things about themselves. (I am sure that they all will not do this, but I can try)

  • Sooner or later, Rose, you will visit somebody with a shoes-off rule. Then your tube socks will be exposed.

  • Rose,

I believe you may be a good candidate for the first "knuckle implant" surgery :)

  • Rose, i can't believe you were tied to your desk and had your mouth taped shut! You may have grounds to sue the catholic church!!!! Just kidding, sort of!

    blessings!

thanks for sharing these fun tidbits about yourself!

  • Hi, Ros(i)e; I've "visited" after many moons and observe a "lighter side" of RR. I scrolled through archived "posts" back to May 9!); the ones pertatining to the meaning of "dead" (NOT "mostly dead all day") particularly caught my attention.

The final paragraphs of Romans 5 particularly aid understanding of "dead" (as in "dead in our trespasses") and regeneration/order of salvation. Please (re-)read such and answer (at least for yourself): For the sin of whom are we condemned already? [Hint: This is one doctrine which RC got right; it's why another RC doctrine -- Virgin Birth -- is a "fundamental" doctrine of the "faith once for all delivered to the saints" (not necessarily the Saints)].

  • Rose, you are so fun.

    Just so you know, we all are a bit deviated septimes, too. {c;

  • How 'bout that! Rose likes George Foreman too! He cooks our hamburgers for us!

Thanks for sharing Rose. I feel like I know you a little better now. God Bless.

  • Tube socks are pretty much amazing.

Most of mine have holes in them, yet I refuse to buy more socks. (I wear sandals for a good deal of the year- basically until it starts snowing. Even then I've been caught on days where it wasn't snowing initially, but when I got into my car to go home it was. Besides, kilts don't look good with tube socks...)

In your photograph on your blog, the little pinkie finger is question is almost in the frame.

Now to answer Alvin on the other blog :-)

  • I have not been feeling so well for a couple of days....

    DF,
Yes, I did visit one of those houses earlier this fall. Fortunately, I was wearing "trousers" as you English say. I will just keep my fingers crossed about the rest of the winter.

    KS,
Yes! I need another knuckle. I know a knuckle-head... maybe I can get one from him....

    ;~)

    Angela,
Yes! I was. That nun was a little "off" and I think, for that reason, I was inclined to push her to her limits. What can I say? I wasn't saved. It is fun to share these kinds of things!

    Andrew,
Yes, I was rebellious. I can only hope that I don't have to deal with a child like the one I was. I have four children though, so chances are....

    Hello Jim,
Nice to see you. I hope you had a wonderful morning at our dispensationl, premillenial church. I was not able to go because of illness, but I do love that church! ;~)

    By Blogger Rose~, at 12/09/2007 11:17 AM

  • Missy,
Thank you for saying that. :~)

    Southern Boy,
Well thanks for the shout out! I have a GF grill too - it is great in the winter... the OHIO winter in which one cannot grill outside. :~)

    By Blogger Rose~, at 12/09/2007 11:36 AM

  • Monk,
I am glad other people wear tube socks too!

    Haha J. Wendell. ;~)

    Goodnight,
Well thanks for doing the tag. I didn't think you would ... what a pleasant surprise. I will check it out. If you look at my photo you can see how short that finger is. :~) It is really weird.

    By Blogger Rose~, at 12/09/2007 11:45 AM

  • Crossing your fingers is not going to help you much, Rose.

I am sure it is not too trivial to pray about.

I hope you are having a blessed Lord's Day.

  • I hope you're feeling well soon, Ros(i)e! I was spared: The ice storm caused truncation. Fortunately for another R.R., the third show is postponed, not canceled.

Urgent, albeit "unspoken" prayer request for a member of E.B.C. and his wife; of course, God knows.

  • Rose,

My prayers for your feeling better are with you.

I had to look up the big words, "deviated septum." I think my son had one when he was a baby -- or rather his whole nose was "deviated" because he turned as he went down the birth canal. His nose was a funny sight for the first year.

Some surprising things about me: I was born on my birthday (but I notice that is a tendency for a lot of people). I'm short enough so my feet reach the ground when I stand.

  • Hi Rose

Hope you are feeling better by now!
Thanks for your kind words again. And I like Big George to! And his grill!

  • Goodnight,
Well thanks for doing the tag. I didn't think you would ...

Unless I've missed something, it looks as if I the only one you tagged who has participated.

    Regards,

  • My pleasure for the shout, Rose! That ol' Foreman grill is still hanging on! It cooks some mighty fine burgers! God Bless.

  • masRose,

I wore no nylons under my boots today to church. Scandalous!!!! The trip home held a great deal of fervent prayer that we wouldn't end up in a car-eating ditch. I pray you had a safe trip if you went. As for us, what were we thinking?!
